Overview
Sermorelin is the shortest fully functional fragment of GHRH (amino acids 1-29). It was the first FDA-approved GH secretagogue for treating GH deficiency in children. It stimulates natural GH release through the GHRH pathway.
Mechanism of Action
Binds GHRH receptors on pituitary → stimulates natural GH pulsatile release → increases IGF-1 → preserves negative feedback → does not suppress HPA axis.
