Overview
Semax is a synthetic analog of ACTH (4-10) developed in Russia, primarily known for its neuroprotective and nootropic effects. It is approved in Russia and several countries for treating stroke, cognitive disorders, and as a nootropic.
Mechanism of Action
Activates BDNF and NGF expression → modulates serotonergic and dopaminergic systems → enhances neuronal survival → increases cerebral blood flow → modulates immune function via melanocortin receptors.
