MOTS-c

Mitochondrial peptide for metabolic health and exercise mimicry

Subcutaneous Injection
Exercise mimetic effects Improved insulin sensitivity Enhanced fat oxidation Mitochondrial optimization Anti-aging metabolic support

Overview

MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded by the 12S rRNA gene. It functions as an exercise mimetic, activating AMPK and improving metabolic homeostasis. It represents a new class of mitochondrial signaling peptides.

Mechanism of Action

Activates AMPK pathway → increases glucose uptake → enhances fatty acid oxidation → improves mitochondrial function → acts as a retrograde signal from mitochondria to the nucleus.

Benefits

  • Exercise mimetic effects
  • Improved insulin sensitivity
  • Enhanced fat oxidation
  • Mitochondrial optimization
  • Anti-aging metabolic support

Dosing Protocol

Typical Dose5–10 mg/week
Frequency3–5x per week (SubQ)
Cycle Length8–12 weeks

Half-Life

~4–6 hours

Duration of pharmacological activity after administration.

Side Effects

  • Injection site reactions
  • Mild fatigue initially
  • Generally well-tolerated

Stacking Recommendations

5-Amino-1MQNAD+Epithalon

Storage & Reconstitution

Lyophilized: -20°C. Reconstituted: 2–8°C, use within 14 days.

Research Notes

Discovered in 2015 by Dr. Pinchas Cohen. Studies show improved glucose regulation and exercise capacity. Levels decline with age. Active research in metabolic disease and longevity.
