Overview
LL-37 is a cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide naturally produced by the human immune system. It serves dual roles: directly killing pathogens and modulating the immune response to promote wound healing and tissue repair.
Mechanism of Action
Disrupts microbial membranes → recruits immune cells → promotes angiogenesis → modulates inflammatory response → enhances wound closure → activates P2X7 receptor signaling.
