Overview

Adipotide is a peptidomimetic that targets and destroys the blood supply to fat tissue by binding to prohibitin on the surface of blood vessels feeding white adipose tissue, inducing apoptosis of fat cells.

Mechanism of Action

Binds prohibitin on vascular endothelium → triggers apoptosis in adipose vasculature → fat cell death via ischemia → reduction in white adipose tissue mass.
